Futurología began around 2006-2007 at the Centro de Investigación Coreográfica del INBA, but quickly expanded beyond that origin into a broader experimental field.
The project became a fluid collective working across music, sound art, performance, visual production, electronic experimentation, and changing ensemble formats. Membership shifted according to each work rather than following a fixed band lineup.
Between 2007 and 2017, Futurología moved through live experimental rock, improvisation, analog projection, interventions, sound art, physical releases, and larger ensemble forms.
Linux, Ardour, SuperCollider, live coding, and free-software tools were part of its production practice, shaping how the collective recorded, performed, and imagined electronic sound outside conventional studio systems.
The project is currently inactive or in hiatus. A possible return around its twentieth anniversary has been discussed, but no public event is confirmed.
