Lights Falling is an experimental album produced throughout the infamous year of 2020. Making use of data sonification techniques and sound syntheses, this abstract work tries to present a personal and intimate experience of the chaos lived throughout the pandemic and the deterioration and polarisation of culture, social relationships and freedoms through ideology pushed by corporate mainstream media and algorithmic social networks. Mixing vague minimalistic music, pure, abstract and distorted sounds and noise, RKRRK (A.K.A. Diego Madero, a multimedia artist and musician from Mexico) takes the listener on a dreamy tour of dimly lit soundscapes created by old synthesizers, circuit-bent instruments, toys and code, that feels halfway organic and digital.
